The vast Argentine territory takes us from the Tropic to the Pole (in Antarctica), through the rain forest in the North, where Iguazú Falls are, which we share with Brazil and which are the largest in the world. |
La Rioja is a region of extraordinary beauty, with spectacular mountainous landscapes and rock formations, such as El Señor de la Peña, in which the wind, through thousands of years, has carved the profile of Christ. The Pampa is an "ocean of grass", where cattle is raised |

The
main characteristic of the Argentine relief is the remarkable contrast
between the immense plains on the East and the striking Andes on the West.
They are the borderline with Chile and it has the highest peak in the
Western Hemisphere: the Aconcagua (6.959 mts.) in the province of Mendoza. |
South, the mountain range shows astounding contrasts: from the high
plateau in the Northwest to the lake area, the woods and glaciers of the
Andes in the Patagonia. |

In
the North, the Chaco Region is a forest area including the rivers Bermejo,
Salado and Pilcomayo. Extending between the reivers Paraná and Uruguay,
there is the Argentine Mesopotamia Region (composed of the provinces of
Entre Ríos, Corrientes and Misiones. Its low hill, lagoons and
“esteros” (swamps) mark the old course of this large rivers. At
certain point, the ground breaks and and form such spectacular
irregularities as the Iguazú Falls. |
In
the central part of Argentina, the well known “Pampa” is the region of
the vast plains. Composed of the provinces of Buenos Airs, La pampa, South
of Santa Fe and Southeast of Córdoba, agriculture and farming are highly
exploited in this region. This landscape is cut off by the sierra mountain
ranges of Tandil and La Ventana
to the south and of Córdoba to the west. |

To the South, from the Andes to the sea, there extends the barren and rocky Patagonic Plateau, beaten by the wind for the most part of the year. The Atlantic coast, skirted by high cliffs, sketches crooked shapes, as is Valdéz Peninsula and its fantastic colonies of sea animals. |

In
the center of the country, we find very attractive cities like Mendoza,
San Luis, Córdoba and, certainly, Buenos Aires, the capital city. Buenos
Aires is the most European-like city in the American Continent, enjoying a
fantastic architecture and cultural heritage. Along the Andes, there are
cities like Mendoza and San Juan, in which modern life and “gaucho”
tradition live together in full harmony. To the South of the province of
Neuquén, there lies the lake area, where we find Bariloche, a very
important ski resort. Mar del Plata, with its beautiful beaches 400 km
from the capital city,
is a paradise for water sports lovers. |

Investing
in Argentina, gives access to the MERCOSUR, a common market formed by
Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay. An agreement has recent been
signed with Chile and Bolivia through which these countries are associate
members of this integration group, and Mendoza, with an outlet to the
Pacific Ocean through Chile. In January 1995, a free trade area and a
common duty were fixed. This market comprises a global population of 200
million people and a gross domestic product of 1.000 million dollars. Mendoza
has a strategic position, linking the ports of Chile with those of the
MERCOSUR. |
